Your child’s care needs continue when school ends, our comprehensive program offers weekday care available until 7 p.m. Our licensed nurses follow your child’s individualized care plan and medical orders. Depending on your child’s needs, after-school nursing services may include:
- Medication administration and prescribed treatments.
- G-tube feeding and monitoring of feeding tolerance.
- Tracheostomy care, oxygen management, and prescribed respiratory support.
- Health assessments, vital-sign monitoring, and observation for changes in condition.
- Personal care and assistance with daily routines.

Coordination with your child’s therapists
Bright Minds PPEC provides designated space and coordination for children’s own physical, occupational, speech, and behavioral therapy providers. This can help families organize nursing care and prescribed therapies in a familiar setting.
After-school therapy visits depend on the treating provider’s availability, the child’s care plan, and any required authorizations. Ask our team about coordinating with your child’s current providers.
Meals and snacks with individual needs in mind
Meals, snacks, and feeding assistance follow each child’s dietary requirements and care plan. Our team considers prescribed feeding instructions, allergies, and the support needed for safe participation in the afternoon routine.
Transportation planning for your family
We assist eligible families with non-emergency transportation coordination to and from our Homestead location. If your child needs transportation after school, contact us to review the school location, dismissal time, medical accommodations, route availability, and applicable coverage requirements.
Transportation arrangements are confirmed individually before attendance begins.
Who can benefit from after school PPEC care?
Our program may be appropriate for school-age children and adolescents who are medically stable and need prescribed nursing services after school. Admission is based on the child’s clinical needs, our ability to provide the required care, and applicable eligibility and authorization requirements.
